Aim:  

To improve understanding and confidence when working with people with dementia.

Suitable for:

This basic level course is aimed at staff who work with people with dementia and their carers who are interested in knowing more about dementia.

Objectives:

At the end of this course delegates can expect to be able to:

    • Engage with people with dementia in a variety of ways
    • Have greater understanding of different types and causes of dementia
    • Understand the impact of dementia on the individual
    • Appreciate the impact of dementia on the family
    • Have considered the assessment process
